Are CrashGuard NX components (frame, rim, buttons) compatible with the old (first-generation) Mod components?
Frame, Rim and Backplate
1. CrashGuard NX/Mod NX rims and backplates are not compatible with first-generation Mod frames.
2. First-generation Mod backplates and rims are not compatible with CrashGuard NX/Mod NX frames.
Buttons
Your buttons can be used with both systems as the NX Series buttons and first generation Mod buttons are the same.
What is the difference between CrashGuard NX and Mod NX?
Mod NX is the modular case system bundle that includes a frame, rim, backplate and buttons. This system is for users who want to use a standard case with back, or users who want to switch back and forth between a standard case and a bumper case. CrashGuard NX uses the same system components as Mod NX, but the bundle only includes a frame, rim and buttons (without a backplate). CrashGuard NX is for users who want a bumper case only option.
Can the Rim be used together with the Backplate on the CrashGuard NX?
No. The CrashGuard NX comes with two modes: Standard & Bumper Mode, which requires different components:
Standard case mode: Frame + Backplate + Buttons
Bumper case mode: Frame + Rim + Buttons
Can I use the Mod NX backplate on the CrashGuard NX?
Yes. The backplates can be used on the CrashGuard NX as the locking mechanism is the same as Mod NX Frame. You will only need to remove the rim and install the backplate on.
